2026 Pilgrimage

The Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Pilgrimage of the Sick to Lourdes in 2026 will take place from
22nd May to 29th May, 2026

Welcome to Our 2026 Pilgrimage page

Lourdes is a sacred place of healing, hope, and spiritual renewal, where all are invited to encounter the love and care of Our Lady. At the Society of Our Lady of Lourdes (SOLL), we warmly welcome pilgrims from every walk of life to join us on this transformative journey.

Whether you come as an Assisted Pilgrim in need of care, a Helper Pilgrim offering your time and heart in service, a member of the Medical TeamClergy or Religious, or as a Praying Pilgrim seeking a time of reflection and prayer, there is a place for you in our SOLL family.

Each role is vital to our shared mission of bringing the sick to Lourdes. We provide the support, training, and community needed to make your experience meaningful and rewarding. Together, united in faith, we become Pilgrims of Hope under the guidance of Our Lady.

There are many ways to be part of this journey:

Assisted Pilgrims

Lourdes places the sick, frail, and those in need at the heart of its mission. If you require assistance during the pilgrimage, our volunteers, young and adult Helpers, and dedicated medical team are here to provide the care and support you need. Whether it’s help moving around Lourdes or specialised medical care, we will ensure your pilgrimage is a time of comfort, joy, and spiritual nourishment.

Helper Pilgrims

If you are over 18, you are invited to join us as a Blue Shirt Helper, offering care and companionship to our Assisted Pilgrims. Helpers assist with daily tasks such as supporting mobility, preparing meals, attending events, and offering a listening ear. No prior experience is required—just a kind heart and a willingness to serve. Training and support are provided, and you’ll work closely with a team, forming lasting friendships along the way.

All Helpers should link to the HELPERS PAGE for further information and application form

Medical Team Members

Doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals play an essential role in caring for our Assisted Pilgrims. By offering your skills, you enable those most in need to experience the peace and healing of Lourdes. Whether you’re an active healthcare worker or a retired professional, there is a place for you on our team, with opportunities to balance service with your own personal spiritual renewal.

Clergy and Religious Pilgrims

Our pilgrimage is enriched by the presence of clergy and religious who accompany us. Whether you’re bringing a parish group, serving as a chaplain, or simply joining as a pilgrim, your presence is a blessing to our community. If you prefer not to take on formal duties, we can ensure your experience is one of prayerful retreat and reflection.

Praying Pilgrims

For those seeking a time of prayer, reflection, and connection, joining us as a Praying Pilgrim offers a beautiful opportunity to experience Lourdes. With daily liturgies, spiritual events, and moments of quiet contemplation, you can immerse yourself in the grace of this sacred place. Whether travelling alone or as part of a group, you will find a welcoming community and the space to deepen your faith.

Together as Pilgrims of Hope

No matter how you join our pilgrimage, you will be part of the SOLL family. In Lourdes, we journey together in faith, supported by the loving intercession of Our Lady. Come with us to experience the joy, healing, and hope that make Lourdes a place like no other.
